MOORE Rugby Club is preparing for its biggest performance of the year – the annual Christmas pantomime.

The players and members throughout all sections of the club will be donning their 'drag rags' to tell the story of 'Peter Pun'.

A hilarious script, saucy gags and classic panto antics can be expected for the comic display which will be raising funds to support the redevelopment of the clubhouse next year.

“We have a cast of more than 20 club members who are currently rehearsing hard and giving it their all twice a week," said club chairman Andy Mossop.

"The aim is to raise much needed money for the club and help it keep going from strength to strength."

Last year's performance was a sell out and director Ian McCormack hopes the community can make it another popular night.

“It’s become an annual fixture in both the rugby club and village calendar and this year’s performance promises to be our best yet," he said.

“It’s a great evening out for everyone albeit a little bit rude – and great entertainment for any broad minded individuals, couples or for large groups."

The pantomime, for adults, is being held at Moore Rugby Club, on Moss Lane, between December 11 and 13.

Tickets are priced between £10 and £15 and can be purchased from the club or the village post office.
