MARK Crozer is jetting in from Brooklyn on Saturday to play a fundraising gig in Newton.

The Jesus and Mary Chain bassist is bringing his band The Rels from New York for his only show in the north west at The True Blues Club at Earlestown Conservative Club.

The event is raising money for the Earlestown Christmas Light Fund, a community group set up to fund better festive lights in the area.

Mark Crozer and The Rels shot to fame after the American wrestling show WWE bought the rights to their song 'Broken Out In Love' and renamed it 'Live in Fear' for wrestler Bray Wyatt's entrance music.

The band even played live at this year's Wrestlemania event in front of more than 75,000 people in the Super Dome in New Orleans.

Mark Crozer and The Rels will be also be supported by Evil Poccilo, Mathew Crawley and Titors Insignia, who featured in Warrington Guardians Hotwired competition.

Event organizer Phil Knight, who also runs WA12 Radio, said "After putting on many charity events in the area, the group organising the Christmas light fund asked if there was a way to help raise funds I tried to think of something a little different.

"It's fantastic that Mark Crozer has agreed to play and it's the only show in the north west that they will be doing so the only chance to see them live."

- Doors open at 7pm and the entry fee is a donation to the Earlestown Christmas Light Fund
