SHE may be just seven but Siena Spiro is already a rising star of the silver screen.

The St Matthew's CE Primary School pupil has a small role in '71, a gritty film about The Troubles in Belfast which is in cinemas now.

Siena, a member of Little Stars Stage School in Appleton, plays the little sister of soldier Thommo who is abandoned by his unit alongside Gary (the film's star Jack O'Connell).

It is the Walton resident's second film after appearing in Keeping Rosy with Maxine Peake.

Lauren Kelly, from Little Stars, said: "All the senior students at the stage school have loved being able to go and watch the film and see Siena on the screen as some of them help in her class. Unfortunately Siena herself can’t go and see the film as it’s rated 15!

"Over the summer holidays Siena was also lucky enough to film a commercial for CITV where she is dressed as a clown.

"It’s amazing as a teacher to be watching X Factor and then to see Siena’s face pop up on my television! We were doubly lucky with that commercial as she was filmed alongside Ewan Phillips who is another one of our students."
