I READ with interest in this week's Bucks Free Press Mrs Audrey Dreher's comments regarding the dangers of crossing the road at the junction between Totteridge Road and Amersham Hill.
While agreeing that this junction is indeed dangerous, I do wonder why Mrs Dreher does not use the crossing just above the junction to cross the Amersham Hill.
She could then proceed down the hill, cross over Castle Street (using the central island thereby only having to negotiate traffic from one direction at a time) then re-cross back over into Crendon Street using the pedestrian crossing.
There would then be no need to cross either Totteridge Road or Station Road.
As Mrs Dreher obviously appreciates the exercise provided during her walk to work I feel sure that the extra few steps needed to cross over the Amersham Hill would not prove too daunting, and would be a safer route.
