EIGHTIES crooner Paul Young is to perform his signature album, No Parlez, in celebration of 35 years since its release.

The singer will be at Parr Hall on October 9 as part of a 16-date tour.

No Parlez was Paul’s debut album. It topped the UK charts in 1983 for five weeks and fast became triple platinum.

It also featured Paul’s first UK number one single – The Marvin Gaye cover of Wherever I Lay My Hat and hits Come Back and Stay and Love of the Common People.

The album also features a cover of Joy Division’s Love Will Tear Us Apart.

Originally in early 80s band Q-Tips, the singer – not to be confused with the late Paul Young of Mike and The Mechanics – went solo in 1982.

The 62-year-old is also a Brit Award winner for Best Male Vocalist, sings the opening lines on the original Band Aid single, Feed The World, and performed at Live Aid in 1984.

Behind the scenes, Paul is a family man keen chef, biker and fan of all things Mexicana.

And when he is not singing his hits he can often be found performing in the Americana band Los Pacaminos.

Paul Young will play No Parlez in full at the Parr Hall on October 9.
