A NEW interactive show for young children featuring magic from Paul Daniels is coming to Warrington in the new year.

Don’t Dribble on the Dragon, presented by The People’s Theatre Company, specialists in fantastical, original drama and music for three to eight year olds, is coming to the Pyramid on Sunday, February 18.

It is based on the book by Steven Lee and follows Tom the toddler, his cool older brother Jack and a secret dragon kept in a box beneath their socks.

The production features the last magic conceived by the late Paul Daniels.

The People’s Theatre Company struck up an 18-month partnership with the entertainer after they met on tour while he was in pantomime in Gravesend.

The Surrey company described the hour-long show as a ‘fitting tribute to the years Paul Daniels spent delighting people of all ages with his astonishing illusions’.

The magician died just before the show was completed, so the final technical advice and finishing touches were made by the president of The Magic Circle, Scott Penrose.

Steven Lee, who also wrote How The Koala Learnt To Hug, said: “In our show, Paul’s technical brilliance will conjure up such ‘amazements’ as the fire-breathing dragon, explosions, lights that appear from thin air, a magical sponge cake and gravity-defying mangos.”

Rebecca Mundy, from Pyramid and Parr Hall, added: “This entertaining musical adventure about growing up and the importance of family is the perfect feel-good show for big-hearted adults and loving little ones alike.”

Steven will also be available to sign copies of Don’t Dribble on the Dragon on the night.
