THERE is still time to see an exhibition at Warrington Museum and Art Gallery which includes work by some of the most respected names in photography.

The Royal Photographic Society (RPS) Members’ Biennial Exhibition is at the Museum Street gallery until August 5.

It is free to view and has been produced by members, associates and honorary fellows of the RPS. Featuring a variety of mediums from digital to analogue and even phone photography, the collection includes images as diverse as a helicopter landing on the snow-capped mountains of Greenland to a self-portrait which explores loneliness. There is also an emotional image of Princess Diana, Prince William and Prince Harry and a moody portrait of actor Benedict Cumberbatch. The RPS formed in 1853 to promote the art and science of photography and is still a leading voice in the world today with more than 11,600 members worldwide.

From documenting city life to capturing incredible moments from the natural world, the exhibition features work by artists from France, Hong Kong, India, Italy and the UK with an age range of 23 to 88.

It is hoped the exhibition will inspire the town’s photographers to enter the Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival photography open competition which is being held this autumn.

The winner will be given their own solo exhibition at Warrington Museum and Art Gallery and £250. Visit warringtonartsfestival.co.uk for more information or to submit entries from Monday.
