THE Auction Rooms in Legh Street is celebrating its first birthday with two nights of live music this weekend.

On Friday there will be solo sets from Matthew L. McClure, Scott Simpson and Working Progress as part of the Cultural Quarter bar’s Little Indie Night. If you get there early enough you will also get a glass of Prosecco to help Ian and Michelle Fitzsimons, who run The Auction Rooms, celebrate.

Then on Saturday Back 2 Luv returns for a night of soulful dance with special guest DJs Groove Assassin and Neil Pierce on the second floor. On the first floor pianist Mark Goulden will also be performing a wide selection of singalong favourites.

Ian said: “We are both extremely proud and excited to be celebrating our first birthday. It’s taken a lot of hard work to transform both floors of The Auction Rooms bar.

“We feel we have managed to build a really great, late night venue for all visitors of the Cultural Quarter to enjoy.

Our aim is to provide many more nights of amazing live music, fantastic DJs and some of the best cocktails around.”
