July was generally a successful month for digital sales, a strong group monthly ad count was complimented by the highest group print-online upsales conversion rate and the seventh consecutive monthly increase in the group Featured Jobs conversion rate.

A monthly group average of 85.9% saw a total of 2,741 listing upsold to online in July. DESC and South London both converted 100% of their print bookings to online listings while Dorset, Worcester and Bradford all had their best weeks of the year so far. Only three teams failed to achieve over 80%!

Featured Job sales have gone from strength to strength throughout the course of 2011 with the monthly group average increasing every month from 64.8% in January to 81.5% in July. Worcester maintained their 100% Featured Jobs record in July with Sussex, South London and Essex all having their best month of the year so far. With 5 teams ending the month under 75% and the highest weekly group average standing at 84.2% there remains room to improve the monthly conversion rate even further!

Unfortunately logo sales were lost a little momentum in July ending a similar run of consecutive monthly improvements. Despite pushing past target in week 30, the group average for the month was 37.9%, the second highest monthly rate of the year but over 2% under target. DESC, Oxford, Essex and Cheshire all had their best month of year and Worcester maintained their position leading logo sales with a conversion rate of 86.3%.

Average digital revenue per job saw a slight drop from £167 in June to £163 in July. Oxford, Hampshire and York all achieved £200+ of digital revenue per job but two of these teams had the lowest print-online conversion rate in the group, underlining the additional revenue to be made if this performance improves. Breaking down the average digital revenue further shows the loss to sit primarily with enhanced listings with a slight loss against logos suggesting the overall drop is due to higher proportion of small display and lineage advertising in July and the drop in logo conversions.
