Both Pizza Hut and Majestic have announced expansion plans this week, creating hundreds of employment opportunities across the UK.

Pizza Hut has announced plans to create 5,000 jobs in the next nine years by more than doubling the number of takeaway outlets.

The company's delivery arm wants to open about 40 stores a year across Britain and Ireland taking the total from 318 to 700. To reach this target about 15 franchises will be available every year to investors who have experience in running food and retail outlets.

Recruitment for the new vacancies has already begun with job opportunities ranging from chefs and delivery drivers to franchisees. Facebook will play an integral part in their campaign with their profile already having 350,000 fans.

Majestic Wine are being equally ambitious with plans to double in size over the next decade. Having benefited from the collapse of Oddbins, Threshers and Wine Rack plans to expand their current 165 outlets to at least 330, opening 12 new outlets a year.
