School children across the north west are invited to take part in Jordan’s annual drawing competition for a chance to win £250 for their school and £50 to spend on art equipment for themselves.

The competition is open to anyone aged four to 18.

This year Jordan’s is linking its popular drawing competition with raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support, the letting experts’ chosen charity partner for 2014.

The theme is ‘Create a Masterpiece for Macmillan’. This can be a picture of anything at all, in any medium, with the aim of it being good enough to be auctioned to raise money for Macmillan.

Jordan’s will auction the best pictures in a selection of its branches in July.

William Jordan, managing director at Jordan’s, says: “We know there is a huge amount of artistic talent in the north west and we hope that children will be inspired by the opportunity to create a piece of art to be sold for Macmillan.

“We look forward to seeing what they come up with!”

There will be three categories: ages four to seven years, eight to 11 years and 12 to 18 years.

The winners in each category will be awarded £250 for their school plus a £50 gift voucher for themselves to spend on art equipment.

There will also be prizes for the children whose pictures sell for the most at auction, and the winning illustrations will be publicised online and in the press.

To take part in the competition, please send your artwork (in any medium – paint, pencil, collage, crayon, charcoal etc, but no bigger than A3 in size) to Jordan’s Marketing, Becket House, 6 Littlehampton Road, Worthing, West Sussex, BN13 1QE.

Don’t forget to write your full name, age, contact telephone number, parent’s email address and the name of the school you attend clearly on the back.

The deadline for entry is Friday, June 20, 2014, and the winners will be notified and announced by June 27.
