THERE were tears and cheers at Beamont Collegiate Academy when pupils opened their results.
There was plenty to celebrate with school leavers studying subjects including history, geography, art, dance, French and additional science enjoying a record breaking year for the academy.
Principal Andrew Moorcroft said: “There are some great results this year with nearly all subjects improving upon last year’s performance with up to 30 per cent more students achieving C grades or above.
“This is down to the hard work and commitment of staff and students who have worked tirelessly this year to ensure all students achieve their potential.”
