A TORY 'ad van' warning voters of the prospect of a 'Brexit shambles' under a Labour Government arrived in the town.

The party's Warrington South candidate David Mowat and Warrington North candidate Val Allen made their way to the Warrington Guardian's office, on Centre Park, yesterday, Thursday, along with the vehicle.

Campaign material on the van claimed votes from residents 'will decide' whether the nation gets 'the best Brexit deal' with Theresa May, or a 'Brexit shambles' with Labour's Jeremy Corbyn and Diane Abbott.

Mr Mowat, who is predicting a tight General Election next Thursday, backed Mrs May for bringing Brexit back to the forefront of her campaign.

He said: "We have got just under three weeks until the Brexit negotiations start – it is a reasonable point to make.

"If Theresa May loses six seats Jeremy Corbyn is Prime Minister.

"We do get that on the doorsteps sometimes and people do understand that.

"This will be a close election and everything indicates that.

"I think it is wrong to predict things like landslides – we are a long way off landslide territory at the minute in terms of what the opinion polls are saying.

"Like every other part of the country, Warrington needs a good economy and a good, successful Brexit deal."

Mrs Allen added: "We are both willing to work towards that.

"Polls are not always right, there have been shocks in the past with Donald Trump and Brexit."
