PRIESTLEY College pupils have overwhelmingly voted for Labour following a Question Time session.
Last Friday, Warrington South's Tory candidate David Mowat, Labour candidate Cllr Faisal Rashid, Liberal Democrat candidate Cllr Bob Barr and Warrington North's Green Party candidate Lyndsay McAteer took part in the event at the college, on Loushers Lane.
Senior tutor Mark Salmon said: "It was really good to see so many students engage in the political process at this important time before the General Election at our Question Time election special.
"Students asked a series of very challenging questions on issues such as the voting age, tuition fees, NHS funding and Brexit.
"Luke Packwood proved to be an expert chair.
"The audience also included students who have engaged in a range of opportunities, such as participating in the Model United Nations conference, standing for Youth Parliament, representing the parties at a student hustings and a mock election at college."
Following the session, students were given the chance to vote for their preferred politician.
Cllr Rashid (LAB – Chapelford and Old Hall) secured 57 votes, with eight going to Mr Mowat, three to Cllr Barr (LD – Lymm North and Thelwall) and one to Ms McAteer.
