THE Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition (TUSC) party will not stand a parliamentary candidate in either of Warrington’s seats.
TUSC spokesman Kevin Bennett, who won 238 votes after standing in Warrington South in 2015, confirmed the news.
He said: “TUSC won’t be standing a candidate in Warrington.
“I support Jeremy Corbyn and I have decided not to stand anyone against him.
“I was the only councillor in Warrington to publicly endorse him for the leadership of the Labour Party in his first leadership challenge back in 2015.
“I was ridiculed for it by the entire Labour group but I had the last laugh.”
Mr Bennett resigned from the Labour Party in January 2015 before joining TUSC.
He endured a turbulent time during his tenure, which included a six-month suspension for defying the party whip.
