Appeal for Google to rectify map mistake

AN appeal for a mistake on Google maps to be changed has been recognised by the internet search engine’s head office in California.

Residents of Hawthorne Avenue and Heyshoot Lane, Glazebury, have had a series of mix-ups with delivery drivers, repair men and takeaway orders after the two roads were labelled the wrong way round.

Chris Vobe, from Warrington North Labour party, said: “Residents spoke to me about this issue in the summer.

“At first, they thought that very little could be done and that it was just a very inconvenient mistake but I took the matter up with Google’s UK offices.”

After highlighting the problem with Google, the case has been referred to its headquarters in Mountain View, California.

Chris added: “I’ve always pledged to ensure that Culcheth and Glazebury are on the map so I hope that Google bosses will put this right as soon as possible.”
