New website lets you buy some time

A FEARNHEAD man is following his dreams of becoming an entrepreneur by giving people the chance to own a section of time on his website.

With the help of web-designing friends, Graeme Robinson, aged 22, has created a website which allows businesses and people to own the homepage of his site for one minute every day.

Graeme said: “The idea is simple; the customer buys a minute and then every day during the specified minute their display will be broadcast in a 900x500 pixel display box on the website’s homepage, for as long as it is in existence.

“People can display whatever they wish, whether it be advertisements, memorials to loved ones, photographs of something or someone very special, or anything else.”

The recent Liverpool John Moores graduate said the idea just randomly entered his head, and once his friends had confirmed that it was viable they set about creating the site within a few days.

So far Graeme has sold around 20 minutes to friends and family but has also had interest from a Californian-run charity.

He said: “When I got the idea I had thought I wanted to give minutes to charity, and looked into contacting some.

“Then the Blue Phoenix project contacted me, which uses football to motivate young people in the developing world. This seemed great so I gave them two free minutes of time.”
