  IN the wake of the tragic Garry Newlove case and subsequent disconcerting revelations, our politicians and numerous associated hangers on express their theatrical concerns. read more

• Funding is needed

  AFTER learning that my four-year-old son needs speech and language therapy, I was disappointed to find that he won't be getting any help until he starts reception class this September. I decided to seek outside help for him in the meantime, however, I was none too pleased to then learn that the waiting list for speech and language therapy was 18 months, due to staff shortages and lack of funds. read more

• Great decisions

  I WOULD like to say a big thank you' on behalf of the community to the faceless people who had a hand in the following: l The decision to introduce clamping on the private hallowed ground that is the Lodge Lane car park in Culcheth. At a stroke this has put a stop to those mischievous shoppers who used to nip to Waterfields for a sandwich. It has also stopped those nuisance churchgoers from taking up all the vacant car park spaces on a Sunday morning. read more

• Sympathy for poor family

  I REALLY do have a lot of sympathy for the family from St Peter's Way, Howley, whose story was reported in the Warrington Guardian on January 10. read more

• SCBU missed opportunity

  I WRITE on behalf of Warrington Ladies Evening Bowling League, as its vice chairman. with regard to Mr George Woods' letter published in the Warrington Guardian on January 3. read more

• 'Shortfall' not 'black hole'

  WITH reference to your report on page 12 of the Warrington Guardian on January 10 regarding the current council tax review, perhaps a better word than blackhole' would have been shortfall'. read more

• Majority are against PSRFI

  CONCERNING David Sloan's letter Parkside is an opportunity' published on December 20; to use the bunch of nimbys' argument against the thousands of residents who are opposed to Parkside, shows a lack of understanding about the catastrophic impact that the Parkside Strategic Road Freight Interchange (SRFI) scheme would bring to thousands. read more

• A credit to staff

  I WOULD like to say a huge thank you to the men and women who dress the shop windows of the St Rocco's charity shop in Longford Street so beautifully. read more

• Brightened my day

• Hospital is putrid

  FURTHER to your article about the Putrid smelling toilets' at Warrington Hospital, my wife went in there on September 10, 2007 to have a simple gall bladder operation. read more
