Points of view

  • Staff morale is at all time low

I READ with interest the article on page two of the Warrington Guardian published on September 6, and feel compelled to respond to the comments made by both Clr Marks and Clr Hannon. read more

  • Potholes

I NOTE Kevin Bennett's comments on Lib Dem/Tory' potholes. Weren't these the very same Labour potholes that are slowly being filled in by the current council? read more

  • Pit reality is very different

HAVING read the recent article in the Warrington Guardian about Ackers Pit, it is obvious that Stockton Heath Parish Council has scant regard for the intelligence of its electorate. It would appear that with just a bit more work and some extra finance the work at the pit will be finished and returned to the community. read more

  • Article was misleading

YOUR item, Village will get £250,000 improvements', published in the Warrington Guardian, September 6, on the proposed McCarthy and Stone development, was misleading. read more

  • Sneaky tactics

I WOULD like to say how disappointed I am at the way police have carried out their campaign to stop motorists using their mobile phones and not wearing their seat belts by using sneaky plain clothed officers watching for offenders. read more

  • Government is to blame

THE people indirectly responsible for the shocking events in Fearnhead, Liverpool and other areas recently, are the Labour Government, who in the mid-1960s, against the wishes of the majority of the electorate, after previous failed attempts, forced through a bill abolishing capital punishment. read more

  • Works delay is a disgrace

IN the middle of March I rang Golden Gates Housing to report a fencing problem. read more

  • Can you help?

I am researching servicemen killed in the Korean War while serving in the King's Liverpool Regiment. read more

  • Labour ran roads ragged

I REFER to the letter from Kevin Bennett criticising the current council for the state of the roads in Warrington. read more

  • Community not consulted

MY son is a third generation pupil of Woolston Community High School. read more

  • Hit for six with charges

WITH reference to the letter in the Warrington Guardian of September 13 concerning the surcharging of letters by Royal Mail. read more

  • Community needs school

HAVING attended Woolston High School on the first day it opened, after travelling by bus to Culcheth, I can remember how easy it was to be able to attend a school in my own area. read more

  • Appalled

THE Woolston community and the school itself are appalled by the recommendation to close the high school. I urge the executive board to think long and hard before rubber-stamping this disgraceful decision. read more

  • Golf club is deteriorating

HAVING been a member of Walton Hall Golf Club for some 27 years, I cannot understand why Warrington Borough Council has allowed the course to deteriorate to the condition it is in now. read more
