  THE proposal to change the Warrington coat of arms is indeed trash, as Mrs Edwards puts it, and a gross waste of public money, which would be better spent on our police force or health service. read more

  I REFER to your article in the Warrington Guardian dated May 31 entitled Is Bridge Street the Sick Man of Town?' As a member of the town centre management team I can assure everyone that I have never seen Bridge Street totally empty at any time of the day or night and I would like to add to the positive comments made in the article about the future of Bridge Street. read more

• Residents are under attack

  THROUGHOUT the night of Friday, May 25, residents in the Stonebridge Gardens and Woodbridge Gardens areas of Appleton were under threat of attack by a group of youths. read more

• No stampede

  I WAS in the Golden Square before 8.30am on the Thursday it opened to queue up at Debenhams for the £50 voucher they were giving to the first 100 people. There were about 20 young men and women in front of me and they were all so dignified. I expected a stampede, but we were all looked after by the wonderful PR staff. read more
