• A big thank you to the kind Post Office staff

  AFTER mistakenly posting an envelope containing Marks and Spencer vouchers on Friday in the Warrington branch post box (Golden Square) I wrote and expressed my thanks and gratitude to the staff of the Post Office, the very pleasant and willing postman who came to collect the post, the helpful staff at Milner Street and at Crewe customer services. read more

• Disgusted by ad campaign

  I WRITE further to your article in last week's Warrington Guardian regarding the closure of the Kwik Save store in Academy Street. read more

• No-one can touch Bevan

  There will always be argument and debate about who was the greatest Rugby League winger. read more

• What do our MPs think?

  I agree 100 per cent with Mike Thomas's comments on the recent Freedom Not to Inform' Bill which was recently passed in Parliament and which would effectively block us off from knowing too much about what our' MPs are up to. read more

• White elephant

  WHAT an appropriate colour the new building for Stockton Heath Primary School will be, white. read more

• Problems haven’t gone

  IN all of the euphoria about the withdrawal of the misconceived and poorly thought through proposals for the re-organisation of the PCT it is worth bearing a few facts in mind: l Health outcomes in Warrington are significantly worse than in similar towns in other parts of the country. read more

• Council’s 07 priorities

  THE priorities for the year, for the shared administration of Liberal Democrats and Conservatives, will be those presented in our manifestos for the May elections. read more

• Roadworks cause havoc

  OVER the past few months there have been roadworks for an unbelievable length of time at the Cromwell Avenue crossroads near Asda Westbrook. They turned out to be for the replacement of a roundabout, which hadn't caused traffic problems at all, with traffic lights that are now causing traffic queues up and down Cromwell Avenue. This is then preventing traffic from exiting the feeder roads from the surrounding estates. read more

• Ackers Pit is a bomb site

  I SEE from the Warrington Guardian that work has come to a halt on Ackers Pit. It should never have been started in the first place unless those who were dealing with it had done their homework correctly first. read more

• Traffic lights are a disaster

  I AM sure I'm not the only person to notice what a detrimental effect the new traffic lights at Asda Westbrook are having on the flow of traffic along and around Cromwell Avenue. read more

• Cutbacks hit pensioners

  I READ with great interest the article about the poor state' of pensioners in the Warrington area. read more

• Extra staff response

  In response to the piece in the Warrington Guardian on 7 June 2007, entitled "1000 extra staff at council", I would like to clarify that the council has not increased its workforce to the level reported by Mr Richard Buttrey. read more
