• Do you still think you will succeed at the top level as a manager?

  I would like to think so, but if i do go back into management it would have to be a club where I've got a real chance of succeeding and they've got the ambition to succeed. read more

• What is you favourite Scousebusting memory against Liverpool? '85 FA Cup Semi for example? (from Graeme Todd)

  I think it probably was that game because we'd drawn that game at Goodison and we were 1-0 down and that got us back into that game. People say the Charity shield is a small competition but beating them 2-0 at Wembley was fantastic. read more

• Why is it that some players are world class for their teams but can't cut it with the national side?

  International football is a little bit different to the way Premiership football is played. Some who aren't quite so good in the Premiership will have a great career with England - it depends on what type of player they are. read more

• You're a genuine footballing legend who achieved great success in your career as a Man Utd player and England captain, but do you still have any regrets?

  No, it's given me a great lifestyle. Even at West Brom, even though we didnt win anyhting I had a great time. And at Middlesborough we won the Championship and got into the Premiership - I'ts been a great lifestyle for myself and my family. read more

  Probably the dislocated shoulder, because of the timing I missed out on the 86 world cup - but it was also the most painful read more

• What happened with you in negotiations for the Nigerian national job? Was money the stumbling block?

  I'd had quite a few meetings with the Nigerian FA and they were really keen on me taking the job. Right at the last minute the government stepped in and said they must have a Nigerian coach so that was the end of that. read more

• Do you have any aspirations to get involved in punditry?

  Not really - I do certain TV work and take the odd job now and again but I wouldn't want to do that full time because if a reasonable enough job came up I would want to get back into football. read more

• Do you feel angry or bitter towards the Middlesbrough fans that turned on you before you left? And what would you say to the fans in general? After all, you did so much for Middlesbrough Football Club, putting us on the map and laying some great foundat

  I'm not bitter. We weren't doing well the season the fans turned on me to a certain degree. I thought we had a chance of doing well that season and I was delighted for the chairman and the fans when they went on to win the League cup - for a club like Boro to go as long as they did was hard. I just wish they'd done it when we were 1 minute away from doing it against Leicester! read more

• We hear about modern training techniques but why week in week out do we see players with poor technique

  I think theres a lot said about grass roots football and better coaching. The reason you have good technique or good touch is because you train hard. I can remember going back to my childhood, all the lads would meet out on the local green - your mother and your sister would come to get you back in! If the lads weren't around, I'd be in the back yard trying to beat a record of number of keep ups. I'm not sure kids do that nowadays. The more practice you do the better you will become. read more

• I remember when you were in Jossy’s Giants. That seemed to be the start and end of your career in TV drama. Did you have to turn down a lot of offers? (from Conrad Murray)

  I think you're dead right! My acting career came to a full stop when I was in Jossy's giants! read more

• I'm a Boro fan (and went to WCI between 93 and 96, Fearnhead forever!) and would like to thank Robbo for everything he did for the Boro. My question would be, knowing what he does now, what was his biggest transfer mistake? Signing Gazza or not buying a

  I replaced Nigel pretty well when I bought Gary Pallister off Man Utd at the time. I think it's unfair of me to say who was my worst signing, but Gazza had a huge part to play when we went to the cup final and got promoted. gazza played the last 8 games of that season and was outstanding. I think Gazza did better than people give him credit for at Boro. read more

• Should United go for one of the big European names like Lippi or a former player like Hughesy, Keano or yourself when Sir Alex retires?

  I think they should go for me and not Hughesy or Keane! Seriously when Sir Alex retires, its going to be a huge job because of what he has achieved. As long as he's healthy, I don't think he'll retire for a long time. read more

• What do you think about the job Steve McLaren is doing for England? (from Gill)

  At some stage through your career you know you are going to get criticism. Unfortunately because of the run of results we have had, the media have been very critical and it doesn't help the players when the press are on their backs. read more

• Do you have any future ambition to become the next England manager if you were given the opportunity? (from Chris Darlington)

  Its something you'd definitely look at. You do get all the baggage that comes with working for England. Some day if the job was ever offered to me it would be something I would seriously consider. read more

• You've been at a number of clubs as player or manager over the years. Which teams' scores do you look out for? (from Mark Suttill)

  I more or less look at all the teams that I've played for. I still look for Newcastle because they are the team I supported as a boy. But, United, West Brom and Middlesborough are the main ones. I still look to see how Bradford do. read more

• You have enjoyed great results at both Boro and West Brom, but your sides began to struggle eventually. Do you find it is harder to motivate players as time wears on?

  Its difficult to motivate players when they have always been championship players and then they get into the Premiership - for a couple of seasons they can raise their game but after that they level out again. read more

• Who do you think will win this seasons Champions League? (from Lloyd)

  I think Liverpool have got a great chance. Benitez sets them out really well organised for European football. Because of the advantage they've got over PSV they've got a real chance this season. read more

• What do you think of Roy Keane as a boss? Do you think he will be the next Ireland manager or even at United one day?

  Well if Keaney keeps going the way he is at the moment there's every chance he might be the next Ireland manager - he's done a great job up at Sunderland and if he gets them promoted, that'll be a great first year for him. read more

• How did you feel when Eric Cantona didn't pass the ball to you in the last minutes of your last game for Man United to give you a chance to score your 100th for the reds? at the time you looked really angry with him for not passing it... (from Andy Howats

  I've got a good memory! The United lads on that day were trying to give me the final pass. They did as much as they could to put it on a plate to help me get the goal, but I kept missing them! read more
