  A NUMBER of huge blue and white signs have been erected on major roads leading in and out of Warrington, announcing that vehicles are entering an enforcement area' and that those drivers under the influence of drink or using mobiles face heavy penalties. read more

• Support your postal staff

  I READ the article regarding Helen Southworth MP campaigning to ensure Warrington's post offices are kept open and accessible to all and I applaud her for taking a stand. read more

• Thanks to hospital staff

  WE would like to say a big thank you to all the staff at Warrington Hospital, especially the staff on the children's ward for their superb care and dedication given to our son Liam. read more

• Post office closures

  I NOTE that Mrs Southworth MP has decided to generate publicity by campaigning against the post office closures. read more

• Planners cock up yet again

  AM I mistaken in the belief that there is only one entrance into the multi-storey car park for Golden Square, or am I the first to spot a fundamental design failure in this wonderful state-of-the art building? read more

• Public have a right to land

  WARRINGTON Borough Council is embarking on a policy of selling off parcels of land across the borough in order to generate money for this year's coffers. Are the people of Warrington aware that some of these parcels are vital to the health and wellbeing of residents and we, as residents, have a right for some of these areas to be maintained for future generations and not sold for private development. One such area is the Steel Street allotment. read more

• Thanks to management

  A WORD of thanks to the management and staff of the Fordton Leisure Centre from the early morning swimming group. read more

• Children are losing out

  MY three children have all grown up living close to Sankey Valley Park, and they enjoyed the pirate boat, spider's web and slides adjacent to Nansen Close. read more

• Town is no longer unique

  I HAVE to agree with a recent letter published in the Warrington Guardian about the apparent drive, by planners, to make Warrington like everywhere else, to the detriment of its historic past. read more

• Post office staff are polite

  I USE Hood Manor Post Office regularly and the staff are always polite and helpful, with smiles very much in evidence. read more
