STOCKTON Heath shot put star John Nicholls finished sixth in the North of England Championships in Manchester.
The 40-year-old threw 14.52m while representing Sale Harriers at SportCity, while Culcheth's Roger Bate was seventh in the hammer with a distance of 45.98m.
