Competition is groundbreaking ...

SHOPPERS will be able to watch a special football competition at Birchwood Shopping Centre on Saturday.

There will be 10 finalists vying for the top prize in the 'dig for the cup' event which is being held at the centre between 1pm and 3pm.

Miniature footballs will be hidden inside a giant sandpit and the finalists will be given a set amount of time to grab one of them and win a prize. A miniature football representing the world cup will be the main prize of a holiday to Berlin including flights and spending money.
