Church targeted by vandals

ON Saturday, probationers carrying out community work repainted Hood Manor Methodist Church to clean up the graffiti.

By Monday, vandals had come back and it was again daubed in foot-high letters with high gloss paint that borough council workmen could not remove.

Hilda Hague, church secretary, said the back wall of the Raikes Close church has been targeted for around 15 years by various youths.

Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
