THE 2005/06 rugby season is one that Conor Wright is not likely to forget in a hurry.
The 14-year-old from Great Sankey has had success with three teams in both codes of the game and he is not finished yet.
He will line up for Great Sankey High School's year nine rugby league side against Penketh High School in the Warrington Schools Final at Wilderspool at the end of the summer term but it will have to be something special to beat the memory of winning at Twickenham two weeks ago.
Conor, who plays as a second rower in rugby league and as a flanker in rugby union, was a member of the Ormskirk under 14s rugby union side that defeated Bournemouth 8-7 in the Gullivers Travel Junior Festival Final before England's match against the Barbarians.
He even made a try-saving tackle in the dying minutes to ensure Ormskirk won the national competition, having qualified for the final thanks to their performances at a tournament in Nottingham.
Conor was also involved as Ormskirk won 19-7 at Preston Grasshoppers to win the Lancashire Cup and has taken their players' player of the year award.
He has represented Merseyside and Lancashire at under 14s level and was also part of his school's year nine rugby league team that reached the quarter finals of the national Powergen Champion Schools tournament.
His achievements have attracted the interest of English rugby union champions Sale Sharks and Warrington Service Area's rugby league coaches but his father Andy says he will not be choosing between the two codes just yet.
He said: "Conor prefers rugby union but it's not worth deciding yet. He enjoys playing union and league and his tackling is his strength.
