Tri Club success in duathlon series

WARRINGTON Tri Club's Matt Cullen finished second in the final 25 to 29-year-olds' race of the British Duathlon National Series in Wigginton, Yorkshire.

The race consisted of a 10km run, a 40km cycle and a further 5km run.

Clubmate Mark Livingston was victorious in the inaugural Yarrow Valley duathlon series, while Wendy Walters was fourth in the women's race.

Maria Barrett took victory in the women's Worst Kept Secret 10km race in 35mins 45secs.

Jordan wins again

POULTON Park Golf Club junior Jordan Hughes picked up his third trophy of the year in the Waltham Bogey.

Tom Mullen was second and James Thompson finished third.

World Cup 16th

APPLETON Rifle Club shooter Mike Babb finished 16th at the World Cup in the Italian city of Milan at the weekend.

The Commonwealth Games gold medallist surpassed his 17th-placed finish at the World Cup in Munich a week earlier.
