Bridging a gap for walkers

A NEW footbridge in Wistaston - built to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Queen's accession to the throne - has proved a big hit with local walkers.

The Wistaston Jubilee Footbridge will be officially opened tomorrow morning and a plaque funded by Wistaston Community Council will be unveiled.

Senior bridge engineer Paul Tudor said: "The bridge has been available for use by walkers for several weeks and has been well received by local walkers who have commented favourably."
