Smaller housing grants

MORE houses in Sandbach will be assisted by grants from Congleton Borough Council following a policy review.

A borough council survey found that four per cent of the housing stock and three per cent of owner occupied houses are classified as unfit.

As a result the council has reviewed its private sector housing renewal policy and has cut the maximum value of grants available, to assist more houses on a smaller scale.
