Grange's seconds lose by three runs

GRANGE Cricket Club's first XI are hoping to return to action at home to Saughall on Saturday after their Cheshire Building Society Cricket Alliance fixture was cancelled for a third week in a row.

The seconds took centre stage against Langley at Grange Avenue where Grange had the chance to consolidate their position in the top three of Division B East but lost out in a dramatic finish.

Langley collapsed from 32 for 1 to 37 for 7 as Carl Peters, 4 for 14, and Carl Evans, 3 for 24, tore the heart out of the batting although they finished on 91.

The loss of early wickets left Grange at 31 for 4 and although the Peters brothers Adam, 14, and Sean, 14, slowed down the Langley momentum another flurry of wickets left the last pair needing to complete the job but they finished three runs short.
