WARRINGTON Athletics Club's Lawrence Walker won two medals in the North of England Track and Field Championships at the South Leeds Stadium at the weekend.
He produced a sprint finish to win the boys' under 17s 1,500m steeplechase on Saturday and followed up with another excellent run 24 hours later to claim the silver medal in the boys' under 17s 3,000m.
Walker was followed home in fourth place in Sunday's race by teammate Matt Jackson.
The star of the show on Saturday for Warrington was Heather Timmins, who finished fourth in her heat to qualify for the girls' under 17s 1,500m final.
But before the final Timmins competed in the 3,000m, which she won in a personal best time and was followed home by clubmate Sarah Cartwright in seventh place, also in a personal best time.
Timmins ended her day by running in the 1,500m final but her exertions in her previous races proved too much for her and she finished 10th.
Saturday's third medal was won with a third-place finish by Lauren Clark in the girls' under 17s hammer.
