CINNAMON Brow golfer Rob Turner missed the cut at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics US Golf National Championship in Kansas.
The 19-year-old Birchwood Golf Club junior captain, who is one year into a golf scholarship at Webber International University in Florida, reached the national event after a good performance in regional qualifying but was eliminated after rounds of 83, 83 and 76.
He said: "It was a good experience and I learnt a lot but I was really disappointed.
"I'd been playing well in the build-up and in practice but I think the pressure got to me a bit.
"It was windy but it's the same for everyone and that's no excuse."
Turner will return to action at a tournament at Wychwood Park Golf Club near Crewe on Monday and will also take part in the English Golf Union Berkshire Trophy in July before returning to Florida for the second year of his scholarship.
