Families left high and dry

A WATER burst cut off supplies to Runcorn residents on Sunday.

Families living in The Calvers on The Brow estate were left without water from around 7pm.

United Utilities press officer, Paula Wright, said: "It was a burst water main caused by wear and tear on the mains.

"A gang of engineers was on site from 10.30pm and worked through the night to carry out the repair. Everything was back on by breakfast. We apologise for any inconvenience."
