MARATHON man Rob Millington is no stranger to long-distance running, but even his well-worn running shoes will be pushed to the limit by his latest challenge.
Rob, pictured, is currently hard at work training for the Comrades Ultra Marathon in South Africa - a 56-mile non-stop trek that can take half a day to complete.
The gruelling run - more than double the conventional 26-mile marathon - will be the 33-year-old's biggest test to date.
In the past five years he has completed marathons to raise around £6,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, and the computer analyst now hopes to raise another £5,000 in June.
Father-of-two Rob, from Bradfield Road, said: "I know it will be a very daunting challenge but I'm looking forward to it.
"My wife's mother died of Motor Neurone Disease and ever since then I have been raising as much money as I can for the charity.
"I've been training since November and last Saturday I managed to get through 19 miles.
"I'm hoping to get through the Comrades inside nine hours."
