Police plane shoots to scene of call

CHESHIRE Police's plane is often spotted over Sankey and Penketh on the look-out for car criminals but the force website gives details of a more bizarre call out.

The two-engine spotter plane was called out to a report of a man with a firearm shooting squirrels behind a house in Great Sankey on January 26.

The website records: "The area was searched and ground patrols located the male inside the house, who was working with permission of the householder as vermin controller."
