Top four still on

BANK Quay Bulls will continue their challenge for a top-four finish in the North West Counties Amateur Rugby League Premier Division when they entertain Halton Farnworth on Saturday at 2.30pm.

Bulls kept themselves in contention for a place in the top four after a comfortable 36-6 victory against Bold Miners at the weekend, achieved despite falling behind in the opening stages of the match.

But half backs John Braddish and Paul Cragg took control and Carl Turner levelled the scores by crossing for a try.

Lancashire squad member Phil Braddish and John Braddish added further tries before the break.

The second half was scrappier than the first but Bulls continued to extend their lead, with Stan Phizacklea, Phil Braddish and Neil Smith completing the scoring.
