Care home takes a step back in time

FIFTIES fever swept residents off their feet during a special dance at a Burtonwood care home.

The 50s hop at the Old Vicarage care home on Fir Tree Lane saw a return to classic fashion and golden hits and even some novelty sideburns!

Karen Hull, who owns the care home with her husband Tim, said: "It was fabulous.

"We have one or two residents who are very poorly but everyone who could came down to the lounge to take part.

"We had a DJ playing 50s music and then karaoke with some of the staff and relatives of residents joining in."

A Valentine raffle raised around £40 for residents' trips in the summer, while the lucky winners collected prizes of chocolates and champagne.
