Houses raided in search of drugs

POLICE are warning drug users and dealers that their behaviour will not be tolerated following successful raids on two Winsford homes.

The first raid took place on Wednesday morning in Moss Bank when a 34-year-old man was arrested for possession of cannabis.

Officers also swooped at a house in Stephenson Walk on Friday night where a man was issued with a street caution for possession of cannabis.

Det Sgt Dave Snasdell, from Winsford Neighbourhood Policing Unit, said: "Any operation where drugs are recovered is a success.

"Cannabis was found at the addresses so it just goes to show that the information we are receiving from members of the public is helping us."

Det Sgt Snasdell is hopeful the operations will send out a strong message to Winsford residents that drugs will not be tolerated.

He said: "These were positive operations and we will keep on doing them.

"Drugs won't be tolerated and operations like these are important in the fight against them.

"We need information from the community to help us and if anyone has any information we would like to hear from them.

"We are always trying to disrupt the drugs network and the operations we carry out do just that and keep the pressure on."

Anyone with information on drugs can contact Winsford CAT team on 01244 612599 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
