You could put couple's mind at rest says force

POLICE are appealing to young people in Rudheath to help catch vandals who left an elderly couple in a state of distress.

Stones were hurled at the window of the couple's home in Belmont Road at around 5.45pm on February 6.

A group of young people were spotted in the area at the time.

PC Leanne Huddart, a Northwich Community Action Team officer, is hoping someone saw the damage being caused and will come forward to put the couple's minds at rest.

She said: "This incident has left the victims extremely distressed and upset. We know there was a group of young people in the area at the time and I'd urge anyone who was there who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch.

"We know there are people out there who saw this incident take place and know who is responsible. This incident has severely affected the victims and I hope witnesses will come forward with what they know for the sake of the victims.

"They are in a position to bring great comfort to these innocent people by helping us catch and deal with the culprits."

She added: "Likewise, if any neighbours have seen anything, I'd like to hear from them. I'm keen to hear from anyone with information, even those with the most minor detail."

If you have any information that may help PC Huddart with her inquiries you can contact Northwich CAT on 0845 458 6392.
