Artist Bernice brushes up on her new skills

BERNICE Goulding has just unveiled her first Warrington art exhibition - at the age of 74.

The Great Sankey resident has already sold four of her mixed media paintings of seascapes inspired by her childhood in Colwyn Bay.

"It was always my ambition to study at university but family commitments wouldn't allow it," said Bernice, from Greenway.

She was 70 when she started her course at Wrexham School of Art and Design.

Bernice has also just been signed up as the artist in residence at Warrington market.

She will paint daily life at the market then exhibit the work, and teach shopper and stallholders some artistic techniques.
