Folk roxk giants are coming

FOLK fans from across the country will be flocking to Biddulph Folk Club on Saturday March 4.

They will be heading for Biddulph Town Hall to see folk rock giants The Oysterband.

Folk club organiser Eric Cox was delighted to get the band, describing the boking as a "major coup."

"We put the band on for three years running, from 1999 to 2001, at Congleton Town Hall, and had a really brilliant time with them," said Eric.

"They are so much in demand we had given up hope of getting them back to the area.

"However a chance phone call to their agent came up with a free date in their busy schedule.

"The band represents folk rock at its best, and there has been widespread interest in the gig from people as far away as Surrey and Norfolk.

"We've been amazed just how far people are prepared to travel to see Oysterband perform, and we have already sold over half the tickets."

Tickets are £14, and for details ring Eric on 01782-514896.
