Slow down or a child could be injured next

A DISTRAUGHT Northwich couple whose pet cat was seriously injured by a hit and run driver say it's only a matter of time before a child becomes a victim.

Anne-Marie and Harry Worth, have been left with a vet bill of almost £500 after their cat Fluffy was struck by what they believe to be a speeding driver on Saturday.

Fluffy suffered a broken jaw and his owners are concerned he may permanently lose his eyesight as a result of the accident.

The couple say the incident is a result of drivers continually speeding along Alan Street and are urging people to watch their speed.

Mum-of-two Anne Marie, whose daughters are distressed at their pet's injuries, said there have already been a number of near misses with children playing in the street.

She said: "A lot of children play out along the street and I'm worried that next time it won't be a cat."

Harry added: "They speed down the road all times of the day - you do worry something is going to happen."

The couple are now hoping someone may have witnessed the accident on Saturday will contact the police.
