RAMRAIDERS emerged empty handed from a raid on a Penketh bank last Friday.
The raid happened at 6.30pm at Lloyds TSB on Honiton Way.
A grey coloured Volvo reversed into the front door of the bank and a man came from the vehicle into the bank.
Staff ran out of the back of the building and called the police.
The man tried to raid the ATM but was unsuccessful.
He got back to the Volvo and escaped down Greystone Road - the car was found later on Hall Nook.
Detectives say a black Mini with a light coloured roof was then spotted leaving the Hall Nook area at the same time.
The man is described as 5ft 10in, of slim build, wearing a dark coat with light coloured markings.
Police believe two other men were also in the Volvo.
Anyone with information should call DC Neil Gordon on 01244 613835.
