Braddish back to inspire Bulls

Bank Quay Bulls 42

Orrell St James 12

JOHN Braddish was the man of the match after returning from Swinton Lions to guide Bank Quay Bulls to victory against Orrell St James in the North West Counties Amateur Rugby League Premier Division.

The former Wolves and St Helens Academy stand off had left Bulls to join National League Two club Swinton but his return helped Bulls put the previous week's Challenge Cup exit behind them.

Bulls did concede the first try against St James but replied with efforts from Ste Caley, Paul Cragg, Braddish, Bryan Cragg, Neil Smith and Ryan Fieldhouse, with Braddish adding three goals.

Bulls gave some players a well-earned breather in the second period but Paul Cragg grabbed his second of the game and Dale Catterall also crossed to extend their lead.

Bulls host Bold Miners at Longshaw Street on Saturday at 2.30pm, while the second team travel to West Bank Bears in Division Six. Both games kick off at 2.30pm.
