Call for a task force

A TASK force could be formed to tackle the grot spots in Northwich.

The idea came at a Northwich Town Council meeting after Clr Helen Burder highlighted problem areas in a presentation.

It is hoped representatives from Cheshire County Council, environmental officers from Vale Royal Borough Council and two members of Northwich Town Council will form a steering group.

Clr George Mainwaring said: "We need to get people on board."

Clr Norman Davies, deputy town mayor, said: "The vision for the future we have at the moment is an utter mess."

Meanwhile Clr Mandy Griffths suggested a letter be sent to Vale Royal Borough Council asking them to clamp down on landowners who are not keeping their areas tidy.

The council agreed to write to the relevant authorities to set up a task force and also speak to the landowners.
