Have a wild time as a volunteer

MINIBEAST hunts, pond dipping, environmental art and nest box making.

These are just some of the action packed activities you could help young wildlife enthusiasts explore.

The search is on to find volunteers willing to give up a few hours a month to become wildlife watch leaders.

"The scheme is proving incredibly popular," said project leader, Jan Shone.

"Children love finding out about wildlife and exploring the outdoors."

Events have become so popular, some groups are unable to meet because there are not enough volunteers to guide them.

If you enjoy being with children and would like to encourage them to appreciate their environment, you could be just the person they are looking for.

"It can develop skills which can enhance job prospects and provides an excellent way to give something back to the local community," said Jan.
