AN APPEAL has been made to find a home for a cat after a stunned Winsford shopper found the moggy in the back of her car.
Karen Southern, of Wharton Road, is trying to find a new owner for the tabby which was found when a shopper returned to her car after a trip to Morrisons.
Karen, who has rehomed dozens of cats, said: "I was contacted after the cat was found and now I'm trying to find a home for it.
"The woman who found it is scared of cats so it came as quite a shock for her when she found it on the back seat of her car."
The cat is a female tabby, with thick black stripes and is thought to be between two and three years old.
Karen said: "It is an absolutely beautiful cat and seems to be well looked after. We have no idea how it got into the car but we need to either find its owner or find it a new home.
"I have knocked on every door on the estate next to Morrisons and no one knows anything about it so I think it may have come from another area."
If anyone knows who the cat's owner is or would like to offer it a home, call 01606 594505.
