Super health centre plans get green light

A NEW three-storey health centre in Crewe has been given the all-clear from planning bosses.

Plans for the centre on Dunwoody Way include a primary health unit, vet's surgery, nursery and opticians.

The state-of-the-art facility will be built on former railway land between the Morrison's store and the adjoining Redrow housing development now under construction.

The new centre will accommodate the three existing GP surgeries currently housed at the Earnswood, Mill Street and Delamere Street facilities.

The plans also include a pharmacy, accommodation for other clinics such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy and dental services, along with car parking, a 'community resource centre' and cafeteria.

The main opening hours will be between 7.20am and 8pm and the building will front onto Richard Moon Street and Dunwoody Way, with vehicle access from the latter.

The plans are being supported by the three GP practices, as they are unable to expand their services in their current premises.
