Vans annoy residents

VANS from Golden Gates Housing are still annoying residents in Westy, despite a claim the problem had been sorted out.

They are using a converted house in Morris Avenue as a base for refurbishment work in the area.

Golden Gates said that after a busy period in the street and talks with the contractor the problem should have got better.

But resident 27-year-old Angie Lewis said: "Despite assurance vehicles are still parking by the house in Morris Avenue.

"There was one van and two cars in the road - the cars have three spaces already so the rest should park somewhere else."

A spokesman for Golden Gates Housing said: "We are carrying out more than £18m of property improvement works in various areas.

"It requires us and our partners to utilise vans to carry materials. We will continue to make sure staff park their vehicles thoughtfully, however, there may be occasions where it inconveniences residents, particularly in places such as Morris Avenue where the road is narrow.

"We ask that residents bear with us during these improvements and if a van needs moving, our staff will be happy to oblige."
